Greetings, and welcome to our website. We are are Monroe Congregational United Church of Christ in Monroe, Washington; and I am Pastor Tom Sorenson. At Monroe Congregational UCC we strive to be an inclusive, welcoming congregation for all of God's people. Our motto is: "Uniting Faithfulness with Discovery." We are a group of Christians who cherish the freedom each one of us has from God, in and through Jesus Christ, to seek and discover the meaning of Christian faith for our lives and for our world. We take the Bible seriously but not necessarily literally. Each of us is free to find our own meaning in Holy Scripture, and we seek to support each other in that quest. We explore the stories of Scripture with openness to their power to surprise, disturb, and renew us.

We try to be God's instruments in making God's Realm of peace, justice, and the equality of all people a reality in the world. We cherish the unique gifts each person brings to this struggle and to our life together as God's people. We are nonjudgmental with each other, aiming to speak God's truth in love to one another and to the world.

Please join us as each Sunday we celebrate the Good News of God's love for us and all people, a love that will not let us go, from which nothing can separate us, and that brings new life even out of death itself.
